Mr Roger Lewis  1st Degree Black Belt

Mr Lewis started his Martial Arts career at the age of 15, studying Shotokan Karate.  He then transferred to Tae Kwon Do for a couple of years before joining the WCKA, under the instruction of Master Cliff Brown.  It was with Master Brown that Mr Lewis became a reputable competitor winning Gold medals at Welsh and British level in Traditional Karate Kumite, Points and Light Continuous Fighting.

In 1993, Mr Lewis started training in Ju Jitsu and achieved a 3rd Degree Black Belt after 14 years.  During that time, he was also awarded a Blue Belt in Brazilian Ju Jitsu from Carlos Valente (a Gracie cousin) and took part in UFC Ground & Pound seminars with Ian 'the machine' Freeman, winner of UFC 27.

Mr Lewis has provided many self defence courses for women involving knife defences, throws, take-downs and many other scenarios.

In 2007, Mr Lewis rejoined the competition circuit with the WCKA Superfit Squad and became a Welsh International fighter, travelling to Germany for WKA World Championships.  He fought extremely well to win Bronze in the Traditional Karate Kumite.
